About the event
In this workshop, students will be guided through the process of creating this delicate floralscape/flower meadow scene. By using cutting, nipping and scoring glass techniques, students can design and create their very own whimsical floral field, powered by an LED light bar. The flowers on this panel are delicate, willowy and colourful and are made in transparent and opaque glass. These glass panels are then decorated with handmade vines, leaves, stems and colourful buds. They can be further decorated with small granules of coloured glass. The glass panel is cut and designed to be lit by a LED wooden display block that is powered with a USB cable. These are low light emitted light bars and can be left “on” overnight and illuminate soft lighting.
Glass panel: approx. 10cm x 15cm
Wooden light bar: 4.5cm x 3cm x 15cm
Students will be safely guided to use glass fusing cutting tools and equipment in a supportive learning environment. Student work will be kiln fired off premises and will be ready to collect the following week. LED/Wooden display panel provided for the student to take home.
Students are requested to wear long sleeved shirts, closed in shoes and tie back long hair.
