Edith’s interest is wet felting with Merino Wool, Silk and other plant fibres. She also likes to dabble with dyes in her work creating colours that she fels she may need in her processes. Dyeing silk scarves is another interest for Edith.

Edith has been crafting since her young childhood when her grandmother taught her to knit, crochet and embroider.  Edith has endeavoured to try many things over the years and has settled on working with textiles and in particular wool felt and silk.  Edith discovered this art form back in 2011 when attending The Canberra Craft Retreat making her very first Nuno Scarf.

Edith says the flexibility of wool felt as a textile is amazing. Over the years she has attended many workshops by noted local and international felt and textile artists either face to face or online. She has done this to feed her passion and it has expanded her knowledge base in every form of wet felting available to her. Her expertise includes making vessels such as teapots, slippers, wraps, scarves, cowls, vests, textured forms and surfaces.

In 2019 Edith was awarded a scholarship in “Fibre + Paper + Ink” with Canadian Textile Artist Fiona Duthie where she worked with felting paper and wool together, making her own plant based inks and learning how to use them on felted paper and wool.
